Ok, so there was still a bit of chimney left

8.45 - phone call to Xavier - 620 189 635 (lampista recommended by Nura)

  • Speaks English!
  • Will WhatsApp to confirm time of Monday meeting
9.00 - BigMat
  • 5 tiles to cover chimney hole
  • mortero seco - total ~7€
10.30 - Tarongeta
  • Claudia came round to measure up some more
11.00 - Nura Architects
  • application to patrimonio council is in my name (has to be one person)
  • advised to keep calling council about obras menor - it's not just us that it takes a long time for
  • chose pink (from a choice of about 15 different heritage colours) for facade colour and grey for door - can be changed (should've gone with green)
  • application will be sent off by Nura today
  • discussion about whether the obras menor licence is being delayed by 'change of use' - where the kitchen is to be was (maybe?) a kitchen, and the bathrooms are all in the same place(-ish)
  • will discuss with Nura if we need a technician
Meeting with Xavi (lampista from Nura) confirmed for 11am Monday

13.00 - John hacked off the last of tiles/concrete in the SW corner of the big room - what a horrible job.

16.30 - Big Mat for two more bags of mortero seco - 5€

17.00 - no more chimney
  • It has some big flat roofing tiles covering the hole, though John says they're a not sticking to the mortar very well so that might be a problem...
  • I carried all the stones into the garden (we really need a wheelbarrow!) and graded them
